Queenshilling, Bar Prague and Flamingos in conjunction with Invisible Security have all received the prestigious Best Bar None accreditation.
2006 saw the launch of Bristol's Best Bar None Awards, which is a scheme devised to reward licensed venues who promote safety, crime prevention and well-being at their pub/bar/club.
This is a voluntary scheme which the venues apply to and undergo an inspection, by licensing and fire authority officers. By demonstrating a high level of good management, crime prevention and staff training these venues have achieved accreditation. This allows accredited venues to display a plaque at the entrance to the venue, as is a sign of good management and a safe venue.
Obviously we are pleased that 3 of the major venues in Bristol’s gay scene have achieved accreditation, which only and weight to Bristol’s gay scene being one of the safest places to go on a night out. |
